Mark “Sparky” Philips (Demented Are Go)
Haling from Wales is a singer banned from playing in the United States due to his extensive criminal history. While likely the least recognizable name on this list, Mark Phillips (better known in his musical subculture as “Sparky”) is easily one of the most unique voices and people on this list. Snarling with deep, guttural sounds, his band Demented Are Go does not have a lot of notoriety in the rock universe. They are however, one of the pioneering bands to merge the styles of rockabilly with horror punk. This created a genre known as psychobilly. Known for his energy, intensity, eccentric stage look and antics, Sparky dons a quiff meets mohawk hair style — and a voice that somehow matches his outward appearance nearly perfectly.
