Danzig (The Misfits)
Highly influenced by Elvis Presley is singer ‘Evil Elvis’ Glenn Danzig. While having founded acts such as Danzig and Samhain, Danzig is probably best known as the original lead singer of the 1977 horror punk band The Misfits. The highly melodic vocals of Danzig — combined with the horror imagery set in their lyrics — makes their music irresistibly catchy. While themes and styles of his own music starkly contrasts with them, Danzig cites 1970’s Swedish pop group ABBA as one of his favorite musical groups. Reuniting with original line-up bandmates Jerry Only and Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein in 2016 after 33 long years, The Misfits have been touring ever since.
