Jeff Buckley
Achieving success and notoriety for his undeniably poignant cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” is singer Jeff Buckley. Having also covered “I Know it’s Over” by The Smiths, Buckley had the rare ability to cover songs and create versions arguably better than the originals. Receiving much critical acclaim and high regard by fellow artists and musicians, ‘Grace’ would be the only studio album put out by Buckley. His life came to a tragic and early end, when Buckley drowned in the Mississippi River during a night swim at the age of 30.
