King Diamond (Mercyful Fate)
Known by his stage name King Diamond, Kim Bendix Petersen is a Danish metal singer who fronts metal band Mercyful Fate. Known for his stage presence and elaborate rock horror-themed theatrics, Petersen is also known for his wide vocal ability. His voice ranges four octaves, and also includes shrilling falsetto screams. Petersen tells stories through his lyrics — often with dark themes of the occult influenced by his following of LaVeyan Satanism. King Diamond’s twelfth studio album, ‘Give Me Your Soul…Please’ earned him a Grammy nomination for best metal performance. The band continues touring until this day.
