Elvis Presley

You cannot compile a list of the best and most influential singers in Rock n’ Roll without including the king himself, Elvis Presley. Elvis would really take off as one of the pioneers of the rockabilly sound that captivated audiences in the states throughout the 1950’s and early 1960’s. He is one of the most widely cited vocal influences on rock musicians that followed in his footsteps. Known equally for his shaking hips, Elvis was one of the first to have the feverish and loyal fandom we see associated with rock artists today. In 1977 at the age of 42, Presley died suddenly of a heart attack at his Graceland estate.
