Dolores O’Riordan (The Cranberies)

Dolores O’Riordan was the lead singer of the Irish band The Cranberries. There is something very unique and special about the dreamy quality of O’Riordan’s voice. The traces of her Limerick accent is abundantly heard in her singing. It immediately makes you nostalgic for times now gone. Anyone who grew up in the ’90’s would have at least one Cranberries song to represent the time period on the soundtrack of their life. While most of their music is mellow and subdued, The Cranberries might be most recognized for their single “Zombie” — a protest song written by O’Riordan. The song spoke about about the 1993 IRA bombings, the lost life of children, and denouncing the actions of the IRA. In 2018, O’Riordan accidentally drowned in her hotel’s bathtub. She was only 46 years of age.
