The physical embodiment of 1960’s rebellion and counterculture was the front man of The Doors, Jim Morrison. Forming The Doors in 1965, Morrison’s style of singing was often dark and poetic — influenced largely by his studies at UCLA. Regarded as a highly intelligent individual, Morrison also holds the honor of being the first musician to ever be arrested on stage for expressing too many obscenities. His ‘rebel without a cause’ attitude made Morrison the prototype for all rock stars to come after him. The image of a shirtless Morrison with wavy brown locks and arms spread out is recognizable to millions across the world. Unfortunately, Morrison was found dead at the age of 27 in a Paris apartment.
