The Police were a famous English rock band that was formed by Sting, Stewart Copeland, and Henry Padovani in 1977. They began by playing at pubs in London and gained their fourth member, Andy Summers, in mid-1977. It wasn’t to last, however; Padovani was dismissed from the group later in 1977 and the group continued on as a trio.

The band is most famous for the song “Message In A Bottle” which was released in 1978 on their second album Reggatta de Blanc.

The group disbanded in 1986 due to failing to produce a new studio album.
