The Offspring is an American rock band that’s closing in on 40 years old, as it was formed in 1984 in Garden Grove, California. The band’s lineup has changed multiple times over the years, but they were originally formed by Bryan “Dexter” Holland and Greg Kriesel as a garage band.
“Manic Subsidal” was the band’s original name, but it was later changed in 1986 after being inspired by a movie title. Their first single was “I’ll Be Waiting” and was released through their own record company named “Black Label”.
Their first album was self-titled The Offspring, but they didn’t achieve mainstream success until 8 years later with their third album called Smash.
