Sia was born on December 18, 1975 as Sia Kate Isobelle Furler. She grew up in Adelaide, South Australia where she began her musical career as the lead singer of the acid jazz group called Crisp in the 1990s.
After the band broke up in 1997, Sia released her first solo record titled OnlySee. This release was followed by three more albums which flew under the radar.
Sia then moved to New York in 2005 where she began to shift to songwriting because of her growing discomfort with fame. 2014 saw the release of her sixth studio album, 1000 Forms of Fear, which propelled her into the mainstream with the hit single “Chandelier.”
