“Tie Your Mother Down” was the lead-off track on the 1976 album A Night at the Opera. It helped drive in excess of 3 million copies sold and #1 and top 5 chart positions in the U.K. and U.S. respectively. One of the group’s heavier tunes, it was penned by guitarist Brian May and recorded along with the album at The Manor in Wessex, U.K. with Queen self-producing.
