Before his days in Foo Fighters, Dave Grohl was the skinsman for a little outfit from the Seattle area called Nirvana. Here he is on the group’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” the track which broke the band in 1990. It was recorded at Sound City Studios in Van Nuys, California (the subject of Grohl’s later film) and produced by Butch Vig.
