Elton John’s fourth album Madman Across the Water produced the hit “Levon”, which reached #24 on the Billboard Hot 100. Written by John with lyrics by long-time collaborator Bernie Taupin, it’s title was inspired by one of John’s favorite artists, Levon Helm of The Band. It was recorded at Trident Studios and produced by Gus Dudgeon.
