In 1974 Elton John released his take on the Beatles “Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds” as a single. John Lennon actually was featured in the recording as well, playing guitar and singing background vocals. He is credited on the single under the pseudonym “Dr. Winston O’Boogie” (Winston is Lennon’s middle name). Lennon can be heard singing here in the latter half of the recording. The track is the only cover of a Beatles song to reach #1 on the Billboard Pop chart and it was produced by Gus Dudgeon.
