Lewis Allan Reed, known as Lou Reed, was born on the 27th of October in 1942. He started out with a band known as The Velvet Underground. But that was short lived and had little success.

It was his long and significant solo career that made his who he was. He left the band in 1970 and went solo. Since that time he produced over 20 albums.

It was in 1072 that he reached real success for the first time, and had some pretty solid people helping him. David Bowie produced and Mick Ronson arranged the work.
