Kendrick Lamar is an American rapper, singer-songwriter and record producer.
He came from meager beginning in Compton California. He was born the 17th of June, 1987 and basically lived in poverty until he started making money via his music.
As an aspiring teen, he took to the stage under the name K-Dot. He released a mixtape to went viral locally, giving him an boost to his next, but much bigger step. He signed with Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE). It was the one that started giving his some much deserved recognition in mid 2010.
He then started releasing his music again independently and grew a huge social media following. This set him up for many opportunities, which included The Game, Busta Rhymes, and Snoop Dogg to name a few.
