Iron Maiden released Piece of Mind in 1983, and the album contained two notable tracks: “Flight Of Icarus” and this track “The Trooper”, both of which were the first to gain airplay for the band in the U.S. market. “The Trooper” peaked at #28 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock chart. This track and the album was recorded at Compass Point Studios in Nassau and was mixed at Electric Lady Studios in New York City, and produced by Martin Birch.
