Demi Lovato, born Demetria Devonne Lovato, grew up in Dallas, Texas and played piano and guitar at the ages of 7 and 10 respectively. Her music career began on the Barney & Friends TV show and later appeared in the musical film Camp Rock on the Disney Channel and in the sequel Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam in 2010.
Her first album was Don’t Forget and was released on September 23, 2008. On the charts in the United States, it debuted at the #2 spot. 10 of the 11 tracks on the album were co-written with the Jonas Brothers.
Since her first album in 2008, she has produced 5 more solo albums since then and has both performed and recorded with artists such as the Jonas Brothers, Selena Gomez, and Miley Cyrus.
She’s been on multiple television shows and films, as well, including Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, “unk’d, The X Factor, Glee, and season 11 of Will and Grace in the recurring roll of Jenny.
