From the 2006 album Stadium Arcadium the Red Hot Chili Peppers scored a #1 hit on Billboard’s Modern Rock Tracks chart with “Tell Me Baby”. The double album, which featured 28 tracks, was the first #1 album for the band and has sold over 7 million copies in the U.S. alone. The isolated drum track of this tune reveals the source of the groove: Chad Smith’s superb feel and technique (ghost notes on the kick drum anyone?). The track was recorded at The Mansion in Los Angeles, California and produced by Rick Rubin.
