Mark Knopfler

Mark Knopfler was born on the 12th of August, 1949 in Glasgow, Scotland. He is the lead singer and lead guitarist of Dire Straights, which he and his brother David founded.

Dire Straits completing six albums, Brothers in Arms (1985) became one of the bestselling albums in history. This is the one that launched their careers.

They disbanded in 95 and Mark went in a completely different direction. He working included rubbing elbows with the likes of B.B. King, Chet Atkins, Chris Botti, John Anderson, the Chieftains, Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, Elton John, and many more.

He is know for his extraordinary finger picking style.
