Helmet was founded in 1989 in NYC as an alternative metal band. Since its founding, there have been several changes in the lineup over the years.
They’ve released a total of 8 albums, not counting compilation releases. The band didn’t see success until ’92 with the release of Meantime that debuted at the 68 spot on Billboards 200.
They are still writing and performing to this day with a series of hits from the time of their breakout in ’92.
