Blink 182 is an American rock band that was formed in August of 1992 in Poway, California and today includes Mark Hoppus, Travis Barker, Matt Skiba, while Scott Raynor and Tom DeLonge left the band in 1998 and 2005 respectively. Tom DeLonge, the lead guitarist, was in high school at the time and was introduced to Scott Raynor, the drummer, at a Battle of the Bands competition he performed at. They performed under different names until finally settling on “Blink”, then adding “182” at the end because someone else in Ireland was already using the name.
