Formed in 1967, Genesis has dominated the music charts for many years until the the late ’90s and into the early 2000’s. The band started in folk music and then slowly merged into progressive rock and ultimately ended up as a pop band in the late ’70s that rocked the charts for two decades.
Their music is still widely played across US radio stations on both classic Rock and Pop stations to this day.
The band has dealt with many changes in their lineup over their lifespan and it catapulted Phil Collins into mega-stardom from the band’s work and in his solo career.
