Outkast is an American hip hop duo that was founded in 1992. This is where Dr. Dre’ got his start into the big time.
They grew into a successful act in the late 90’s and into the early 2000s. They were also responsible for the rise of Southern hip hop.
They’ve received 6 Grammy Awards, sold over 25 million albums and were featured and praised in top music mags such as Rolling Stone and Pitchfork Media, claiming they were the best in their era, but I believe they created an era.
