From the 1981 album High ‘n’ Dry, Def Leppard’s first album of a long and successful collaboration with producer Robert John “Mutt” Lange, “Bringin’ On The Heartbreak” was the second single released. The single’s popularity at radio and on MTV helped push High ‘n’ Dry to over 2 million in sales. A second, more synth-heavy version was later released as well. The tune was written by Steve Clark (R.I.P.), Pete Willis, and Joe Elliott. Note that the vocal track features only the dry, unprocessed lead vocal track.
