“Something,” the George Harrison-penned classic that appears on the Beatles 1969 album Abbey Road, is another example of the gorgeous sound the group achieved in the studio despite the minimal studio trickery available at the time. The track went to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and many other world charts. It was recorded at EMI and Olympic Sound Studios in London and produced by George Martin.
DRUMS only (Ringo Starr):
ORGAN (Billy Preston) and STRINGS (arranged by George Martin–check out Ringo’s count in at the beginning), a bit of guitar at the end (George Harrison):
Bad sound all cliped, try again!!!!
Thanks for the comment. We totally agree–we’ll look for another example of this track.
11/1/12 Update: Found better quality tracks and replaced the vocal track. Also included now is a bass/drums/vocal only track as well.
