“Jump” is Van Halen’s biggest hit and their only track to chart at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. It also appeared on the album MCMLXXXIV (and referred to as” 1984″). The album has sold over 10 million copies. It was recorded at Eddie Van Halen’s 5150 Studios in Studio City, California in 1983 with Ted Templeman as producer. Eddie Van Halen played the keyboard part on an Oberheim OB-Xa synthesizer. As for the guitar solo, apparently it was assembled from two different takes.
