“Angie” appeared on the Rolling Stones 1973 album Goats Head Soup. It went to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and numerous other charts including those in Canada, Australia and several others and to #5 on the UK chart. The track was recorded at Dynamic Sound Studio in Kingston, Jamaica and produced by Jimmy Miller.
PIANO (Nicky Hopkins R.I.P.); DRUMS (Charlie Watts); BASS (Bill Wyman); STRINGS (arranged by Nicky Harrison) only:
Something wrong here….drums sound sampled.
Editor note: At first we thought the same but what you are likely hearing at the beginning are drum guides that are not in the final mix. They are there but muted during the vocal/guitar intro. It is also worth noting that Charlie Watts is legendary for his clock-like meter and the fills all sound correct once the track gets going. The piano track is also very convincing. We’ll leave this up for other comments and thanks for your comment!
