Pink Floyd’s legendary album The Wall was released in 1979. “Hey You” opened side three of the double album and was written by Roger Waters and David Gilmour. Bob Ezrin, David Gilmour, Roger Waters and James Guthrie were all credited as co-producers. In this track example, adapted from the 5.1 surround sound DVD, the vocals, bass and guitars are isolated in different sections by manipulating which of the surround channels is up in the mix. It allows you to hear detail of the recording you normally cannot hear in the full mix.
