Here is an interesting clip comparing the mixes that Steve Albini and Scott Litt each made of some tracks (“Heart Shaped Box”, “All Apologies” and “Pennyroyal Tea”) from the 1993 Nirvana In Utero album. Litt’s mixes were the ones ultimately used on the album, since the band’s management and label preferred them. Kurt Cobain famously complained at the time “The grown ups don’t like it,” since he preferred the less-processed Albini mixes.
