The track “Fuel” came off of Metallica’s 1997 release Reload. The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart. Recorded at The Plant in California, it was produced by band members James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich along with Bob Rock and featured, like most tracks on the album, E flat tuning. It was the last album to feature bassist Jason Newsted. Noted producer Rock, who also plays bass, would go on to play bass for the band at some live dates following Newsted’s departure from the band.
