Recorded during the sessions for David Bowie’s album The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars in 1971, “Velvet Goldmine” was not put on the album.  Instead it was released as the B-side to the 1975 U.K. single “Space Oddity.”  While not selling any great numbers, the track became the inspiration for the 1998 film of the same name.  The track was recorded at Trident Studios in London and produced by Bowie and Ken Scott.
